We all know how easy it is to scratch or dent your car.  It happens everyday to millions of vehicles.  It’s only a matter of parking in the wrong spot, or your daily routine of opening your car door with your key.  Over time, it’s really inevitable to avoid getting your car scratched.  You are faced with the decision now to buy a car scratch repair kit.  So how much do these cost?  Well, compared to taking it to a professional…pennies.

There are hundreds of car scratch repair kits on the market today, and they all cost between $5 and $50 depending on the severity of your scratch.  That is the simple and straight forward answer.  But it’s much deeper than just buying the cheapest one on the shelf.  Many car scratch repair kits do not do what they say on the bottle.  If you have ever tried to repair a scratch on your car you know what I mean.  The last thing you want to do is buy the cheap product, only to find out you did more damage to your car than the scratch did and now you have to spend hundreds to take it to a professional.  Don’t make that mistake.

Some of the best car scratch repair kits can be bought for less than $25.  Anything that is less than $10, don’t even bother unless your scratch is so small that you can’t even notice it…maybe you are just an “anal” type person about the looks of your car.  Even if you are, don’t you think you need to have the best product out there so you don’t do any more damage to your vehicle?

Now you should also be buying a good wax or polish so the area you just fixed looks like new and not dull (most car scratch repair kits will do this).  And the polish can cost anywhere from $7 to $10.  So all in all your looking at a $35 cost to repair a scratch.  Let’s look on the bright side though, $35 will not only repair one scratch, but also any future scratches that your car will inevitably get.

Now comparing the $35 to the do-it-yourself method, to a professional body shop?  It really is pennies.  A body shop will charge you anywhere from $60 to $100 to fix a simple scratch.  That’s just one scratch!  Plus you have to take your car there, wait for them to finish and that takes more time to just buy a car scratch repair kit and fix it yourself!  Not to mention if they have to repaint a whole panel of your car, or the scratch is a deep one.  It may actually cost you several hundreds of dollars.
