Chances are that you have a junk car laying around that you want to get rid of. After some searching online, you come across a website called Junk My Car. It’s a simple website that states they will give you money for you junk car. All you have to do is get a free quote online and they arrange a local towing company to pick up your vehicle, and you immediately get paid – the driver of the tow truck will have your check ready for you. Simple enough.

Junk My Car Process:

You go to their website and fill out the necessary information – this includes your zip code, city, and the year, make and model of your junk car. From the image below, you can see that I put in a 2007 Chevy Malibu in their form and they game me an initial price. This isn’t the final offer price, just something they do based on the previous general data they have about that make and model of that type of vehicle.

Then, there are 3 more steps to the process (all of which take about 3 minutes to complete).  You just have to answer some questions about the condition of the car, like:

• Are all the tires filled with air?
• Is the vehicle drivable?
• Are the interior components intact?
• Was the car flooded or burnt in a fire?

As you can see from the image below, there are a few more questions you have to answer before moving on to the next step. All the answers you give them will determine the price they are willing to pay you for your junk car.

You can see that I used the standard answers (yes to all, except no for the “fire” question).

After that, they give you the final amount of money they are willing to give you for the car. Again, this will vary from car to car based on a number of factors.

From there, you will need to give them more information so they know where the car is, and when they can pick it up and give you the money. It’s really as simple as that.

Junk My Car vs Other Junk Car Removal Services

I wasn’t able to compare prices for junk car removal services because it seems that the only place that allows you to get an online quote is JunkMyCar.com. I would call the other places I found, but I really don’t want to be wasting their time since I don’t really have a car I want to get rid of. With that said, Junk My Car has a distinct advantage over other junk car buyers. Instead of sitting on the phone for, I don’t know how long, you can just go online and get a quote and final price within 5 minutes!

I know if I had a junk car in my possession, I would definitely rather go online and get rid of it as soon as I could. But if you are looking for the best price, you may have to call around. Even then, is it worth another $20 to spend, who knows how many hours, trying to find someone who will give you more money for it? It’s up to you on how you want to approach it.

Is Junk My Car A Scam?

Absolutely Not.

After all the research I have done, I have found people who jump to conclusions about this company based on their own interpretation, and more often, without even looking at the website. There was one question I found that read “Should I Trust JunkMyCar.com?”. The first answer to that question was “SCAM. Junkmycar doesn’t pay squat.” That was according to this thread on yahoo answers. If you look further down the page, the owner of JunkMyCar.com actually answered that question also! Now how many CEO’s will take the time to look on these sites and answer the question…Not Many. Here is what Tim, the CEO of Junk My Car, wrote:

I can assure you that my company, Junk my Car, is not a scam. When I created JMC 6 years ago, my goal was to build a business in a difficult industry that would provide unparalleled customer service. While we are not perfect – we strive every day to be.

He even put his direct phone number, and his email address where you can contact him in that answer on yahoo. Even if they “don’t pay squat”, it’s all based on how much money they can get for the car – remember, they are providing a valuable service, and they do it well – they have to money too ya know Again, the actual amount of cash they will give you is based on a lot of things including age, make, model, and condition of the vehicle. Even if they didn’t give you much money for a junk car, it doesn’t mean it’s a scam – it just means that your vehicle is not worth that much.

You can also tell if JunkMyCar.com is a scam by looking at their better business bureau rating. As you can see from the image below which was taken directly from the BBB website, they have the highest rating possible: A+.

Out of all the reviews that I read about scratch removal products, every quixx scratch remover review that I laid my eyes on, stood out from the other reviews I read. All that positivity from other customers spurred me on to order my own quixx scratch removal kit. The worst scratches that I had a problem with on the body of my new black car, was on the doors, as well as a few on the hood area, where the paintwork was covered with finer scratch marks. If you follow the instructions carefully, as I decided to do from the start, then you will have no real problems when using the product. I guess there is a reason why they include instructions with products like this. As I said earlier, I started applying the product on my car’s hood first, where the scratches were finer, and I followed their instructions to the letter. For a start, I was amazed at the results that I witnessed in front of my own eyes. It did take a little longer than I imagined it would, but if that is the type of results, which I was going to end with each time, I thought, I would be prepared to wait a little longer even. At this point, I was very glad that I knew where to buy quixx scratch remover, and more so when I started treating the scratches on my front doors. They were a little deeper, but not all the way to the primer, which is probably why I still managed to remove it completely. It did take much longer and needed more patience and effort, and more applications as well.

Pro’s and Cons

After using the product extensively, I can safely say that its main pro is that it definitely removes all fine to moderate scratches and scrapes, but a definite con to me is that you will struggle to remove the much deeper scratches. They will probably have to be filled up with paint first or much more effort has to go into treating the surface and buffing it extensively as well. Certain scratches will demand much more effort and you will have to apply more of the product to produce the expected results. The price of the product is a definite pro, as it is very affordable.

Only because I knew the Meguiar’s product range and after reading enough reviews from past users of the product, I decided to order the meguiars scratch remover product. I had two cars at home that needed urgent attention and I got right to work on some of the finer scratches and blemishes that were visible on both of the vehicles. I always use a microfiber cloth (the video below uses a plain cotton t-shirt, but microfiber will work better) when using the scratch remover products, because anything else often causes more scratches than you are actually trying to remove. When using the product on any scratches I try to rub against the direction of the scratches, and across them as well in a circular motion. Whenever the cloth feels dry, I add some more of the product immediately, but I never rub with a dry cloth until the product has done it’s job.

My initial experience with using the meguiars scratch remover was that it easily removes the very fine scratches and blemishes, but the moment when I moved onto the deeper scratches, I found it impossible to completely remove the blemish or scratch. What I have found though is that if you know how to use the product, you will be able to conceal and minimize the deeper scratches. You will struggle to notice those scratches from more than three feet away. If you want to spend about $10 more, you can buy the quixx paint scratch remover, which in my quixx scratch remover review, you will see it does a better job with the deeper scratches.

It is able to conceal many of the deeper scratches if you use the product correctly.

The way that it handles any fine scratches, swirls and any other blemishes is the main reason I will keep it handy at all times.
